Signing In
With an email and password
Enter your email address and password, then Sign in. Forgot Password? sends a link to your email that lets you choose a new password. The same link validates an email address that has not been confirmed yet.
After too many failed attempts, the account pauses sign-in for a number of minutes your administrator sets. The sign-in page says how long. An administrator can also lock an account. The sign-in page then asks you to contact one.
With single sign-on
When your organization signs in through another provider, its button sits under the password form.
- You already have an account: sign in with your password once, then link the provider from Your profile › Associate OAuth Providers. From then on the provider's button signs you in. A provider that has not been linked is refused, even when its email address matches yours.
- You are new: the first sign-in creates your account and waits for an administrator to approve it. You receive an email when they do.
Your profile › Linked OAuth Providers lists the providers linked to your account and unlinks them.
Two-factor sign-in
A second factor is a code you enter after your password. Aptli offers two, set up from Your profile:
- An authenticator app. Scan the code the profile shows, then enter the six digits the app displays to confirm it. Keep the recovery codes it gives you: each one signs you in once if the phone is lost.
- A verified phone number. Enter your number and confirm the code sent to it by text message. Sign-in then sends a code to that number.
When your organization requires a second factor, you set one up before the rest of the application opens. The profile page says so at the top.
Requesting access
Request access on the sign-in page sends your email address and a short message to your administrators. Some organizations accept requests only from their own email domains. You receive an email when an administrator approves the request.
An administrator can also invite you. The invitation email links to a page where you choose a password. When the link has expired, that page offers to send a new one.
Sessions
Your organization sets how long a session lasts and how many devices can be signed in at once. Signing in on one device too many ends the session on another, and that device's sign-in page says why. Changes that were still waiting on a device are kept, and they upload after you sign in again there.
Your profile › Active sessions lists every device signed in to your account. Sign one out there if it is lost.
Signing out
Open the menu and press Log out at the bottom. On a shared device, Reset app data on the sign-in page clears what this browser keeps for Aptli.
